English Lenguaje Challenges

I feel like it was a very interactive course, unlike what I was used to.

English classes usually focus on theoretical aspects, taught by memory structures for each use of time in english, but here in classes we talk about different topics, such as contingency, daily living or social issues.I think this is much closer to the language we are going to need. Practice is everything and here we were able to develop that aspect.

The use of blog helped me in writing, I could see that I knew a little more than what I thought and over time it became faster and easier to write in english

I think I could improve my level by learning to leave the comfort zone in English, that is, occupying other verb tenses apart from the present, at least in writing

In my day to day I hardly occupy English, beyond watching movies or series that sometimes come without subtitles. But I think that in cases of talking with someone I could develop better than before

Post-Graduate Studies

I would like to study something related to art history or documentary film. I have always had interest in that area, since I was a child I started to research the subject and learn different artistic disciplines.

I would like to continue studying but in Barcelona. I have a sister who lives there five years ago who was also studying. She is in the area of literature, and frequently linked with the world of the arts so she could help me to get in little by little when I need to look for projects or jobs in that area.

On the other hand, it is much more economical to do a magister or any type of postgraduate degree in Barcelona than in Chile, I could study, work and maintain myself well with the help of scholarships.

I am more comfortable with the format of face-to-face studies because I consider it more enriching. The dialogue, the feedback with teachers and classmates is essential for me.

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

I believe that the career of journalism has many deficiencies. When I enter the first year, a teacher who is the father of one of my best friends warned me that the career should not last more than three years according to the content that is delivered, but that was lengthened to have professional career status and not technical

I very much agree with him. There are many contents that are repeated year after year lengthening the semesters and, on the other hand, many shortcomings, this happens in the theoretical bases that they give us. I think it is essential for the journalist to have a good base in many aspects that the carrer doesn´t impart like history, economy, philosophy, sociology and anthropology. I think it would be really good in we had at least the tree first years studying in a deep way those subjects.

As for the technical branches, I believe that it is covered and has more relation with the interest and effort that we put into learning. The problem in that aspect is is the lack of equipment like cameras or microphones when final deliveries are approaching for each career.

In conclusion, from my experience in the career of journalism I think that a great restructuration is needed where more branches are included, such as those I mentioned and more organization for the technological equipment that the ICEI has.

Last vacations I spent more than a month traveling through Bolivia.

We left at Vega Central andtraveled by autostop. We quickly arrived in Arica, less than three days with a very nice truck driver who gave us a lot of food.

First we stayed a week in Arica for the Carnival. Two friends played in a Bolivian band and we wanted to see them.

When we arrived we had no where to stay because the hostels were very expensive for us. we were fortunate enough to meet with a friend of the mother of one of my friends who took us to her house. it was perferct. Had a very large pool and a single house for us.

It was like being in a hotel. after that week we took a bus and crossed to Bolivia directly for peace. the trip was difficult for the height and we waited many hours in the aduana. We started  to the 8 of the morning and we arrived at the one of the morning of the other day to La Paz
I immediately fell in love with the city. was very cute and strange because
because of geography and architecture. La Paz is a
It is a deep valley with cliffs
that are habited.  Here like in all places of Bolivia the indigenous culture very present. The majority of the population is indigenous
at first sight.

Travel through several places in Bolivia that are jungle. where you can find different animals such as monkeys, snakes and capybaras.
the weather was very strange, very hot in the day, then cold in the night and rain always. In the jungle my favorite place was Villa Tunari. A small town in the middle of the jungle were you can see monkeys everywere.

I hope to return this year

My future job

When i was in high school i imagined my future like a craftswoman,
professor of philosophy, anthropologist or musician, I don’t know why but i didn’t choose any of these ways. I studied law one year, because i wanted to work in a organization called “Defensoría Popular”, but law wasn’t for me.

I was not willing to stop making music that is my passion. Then I enter
then enter a career in journalism and now i have a lot of time for music.

I have a lot of ideas for my future work. I have never planned my future very much, because i think the options appear at the right moment.

I would like to work in investigation area, linking social, ethnographic, political and environmental studies whit the communications and from this works make documentaries. This type of work is performed both outdoors and indoors, on one hand this work in the field and on the other desk research. I would like to work on this whit friends from different areas of study.

I would also like to have a workshop where i could work with ceramic, looms, woodcut, and all kinds of arts and crafts, the space could function as a cafeteria, bar and shop, for this would have to save a few years working as a journalist. I refuse to work in media such as television and newspapers, I hope to work on projects that are of my interest.

My pet

Leoncito arrived at my home seven years ago. One day my mother called me and said “Cami, the  dog of a friend of mine had puppies and she doesn’t have enough space, would you like to see them?" I jumped of joy and instantly said yes to my mom. I did'nt expect to have a dog because my father was against that idea but when he met León he changed he changed his mind instantly.

We went to the house of my mother´s friend. In the backyard were like eigth white puppies, all very friendly, but one of them had shortest legs of all, he look like a teddy dog and was jumping in his hind legs like a circus dog.  My mom and I exchange glances of complicity, he was the one. He was the most happy an sweet puppy of all.

My sister named him León because he is the opposite of wildness. I have never known such a happy dog.  When he was little, he piss himself of the exciting of seeing us arriving home from school or work.  He loses his head when arrive people at home and persecutes them asking for affection.

Since he was  little he spends most of his time jumping all over the place in his hind legs asking for food or caring. He is never tired of receive affection, if you stop paying attention to him he scratch your legs and look at you with his teddy dog face for more love that you can´t refuse.

Educate him was difficult, he is now an adult dog and still don’t know where to pee and defecate, My family and I try different strategies but we couldn’t teach him, we think he´s a little fool and  crazy, but  we love him and  hope that someday he will understand. No one can get mad at him because he's so cute and friendly. He has´nt had any problems with other dogs in his life. His  good vibe transcends species. That´s why i think that is the most sweet and happy dog that I have ever known in my life.
